GiddayI'm puzzled a little bit by my Funduro rear shock mounting, the uppermost one, the composite rubber/steel bush job.  My first puzzlement relates to the fact that at the top end there's a bit of rubber around the bolt, yet at the bottom there's a sophisticated bearing. Why is that ?And second, what actually supports the top of the shock is it the bolt passing through the steel bush, or the proud ends of the bush being clamped to the frame via the torqued up bolt ? If it's the latter why does the bolt have to be a particularly snug fit in the bush, I would have thought a piece of number 8 would do the same job if it could be tensioned enough.

Shock bushes, Think range of movement, top versus bottom and then the reason for the bottom bearing will become clearer  8)Clamping vs reasonably snug fitting bolt. Bearing in mind the tensile strength differential between a thin piece of high tensile wire as opposed to that of a nice fat high tensile bolt. Number 8 wire? try it and see  😉Good questions Sir, it shows you are observant of your machine. But dont try the number 8 wire ok, I was only kidding  ;D
