Would there be interest for an Airhead only ride? I've been toying with the idea for a while. We could limit it to gravel roads like the Motu or similar or do a full on assault on the 42nd :-). Seeing that there is no CCA, I need a replacement ride. During the school holidays would work best for me.I've posted the same on advrider.com. And there has been some interest, mainly from the Wellywood boys. Who would be keen from around here? It would have to be around the central NI to make it fair for most people. I am thinking mid April.
rather racist really . No oilys 😀
don't tell RK. Snores worse than a hippo
Yep, and I am out of ear plugs. However, we can hardly go without him.

We have a date. Not with Richard, but for the ride. So dust off your airhead gs and pencil in the 21st and 22nd of April. We'll be going to Mahia. ;D
Not many airheads in this forum by the looks of it
Any room for an oilhead on this one. Its got a airhead front wheel 🙁 🙁boGSer
Sorry, not on this ride. We've already been called elitist bastidges on advrider. I was hoping for a few more airhead Gs's to join us. We're 5-6 people at the moment.

be quite busy up the motu road at the moment with the gorge closed
AnonymousInactive11/03/2012 at 2:12 amPost count: 12They have closed the Motu road about 6 km out of Motu to stop it becoming a detour for traffic that cannot get through the Waioeka gorge Normally you are unlikely to see traffic coming the other way when you travel the Motu road there are places that if I met a bike coming the other way on my bike I do have an involuntary intake of breath to squeeze past. Two vehicles towing trailers meeting would mean one of them reversing back around several corners buffs etc before they could get past not something all drivers with trailers can do. I hear some Bikes and 4×4’s have been allowed through the Waioeka not sure it was official or just the contractors having pity on someone and letting them through while the digger stopped for smoko
Maybe it's only closed to cars then. I am sure they'll still let mtb's through. Mr B should make an effort to find out from the local cops.
*Bump* this is still happening. I'll be leaving Auckland on the Friday to catch up with Mr Bell in Fog City. We'll do the Motu and then see how far we'll get. On Sunday I'll be heading back to Auckland. The weather will be fine and mild.
