Cornwall Park Picnic went off really well, and it was brilliant to meet some family members we don't see on rides. We have declared this to be a “Traditional Event”, so we'll do it again next year.

Bless UncaMoose, who got there early enough to bag a barbie, then rubbed two boy scouts together to cause enough friction to produce smokedbpIMG_0571.jpgdbpIMG_0575.jpgdbpIMG_0576.jpgThe Young whanau play their "Let's pretend we're in a Paris pissoir," game.dbpIMG_0578.jpgNo expense spared to only take flattering photos (Otto Phocus is SO going to get killed!)dbpIMG_0580.jpgA little Nipper.dbpIMG_0584.jpgChow down, boys.dbpIMG_0585.jpgGrandpa in the Grandpa ChairdbpIMG_0586.jpgWatching his hard-boiled grand daughter.dbpIMG_0591.jpgThe late Mr AislabiedbpIMG_0597.jpgdbpIMG_0602.jpgAnd it's a free-for-all come lolly-scramble time.dbpIMG_0609.jpgdbpIMG_0610.jpgdbpIMG_0612.jpgdbpIMG_0617.jpgdbpIMG_0623.jpg

Had much fun thanks Bwucie  8) – once we found the darned place that is !!! Big thanks to UncaMoose and Young Jim for taking care of firing up and manning the hotplate and of course to you Bwucie for knocking up the tasty salads (and olives). Very impressed with Rob's (newish) 6 cylinder Honda, it sure sounded good – beautiful condition Rob. Mrs Team Foley wanted to ride through the new Vic Park tunnel so Team Foley and Team Red/Black Baron tootled off on a short ride to Orewa for coffee to complete a fabulous day.Cheers,Herr and Frau Baron

Sorry Alex, can't take any credit for the firing up, only for dropping sausages into the fire to make sure they were sufficiently incinerated.  8)

You won't have to hide, Wizz, if you go back to Cornwall Park. Yes, we did declare it a Traditional Event, so we will repeat it, but without UncaMoose's good verks we might have had a long wait for a barbie to be free.So I'm thinking next year we might throw a barbie on the trailer (should say barbecue so as not to create any possible confusion with the Luggage, who I'm just about damn sure would hate to be called "Barbie" anyway Mattel have got a lot to answer for). Anyhoo, with our own cooking device on a trailer, we can shoot off to a beach or wherever and have a secure source of ignition and combustion, all to ourselves. Though it doesn't present as many opportunities for Paul to smoke his head, or YoungJim to immolate his saussies.

We were indeed in the red rag top, my eyes were securely focussed on dodging the multitude of vehicles and people wandering all over the road in front of me, funny Babzee never noticed anyone waving....now if you had been waving money she would have probably zoned in on that......never mind no harm done, it gave us a chance to blow the cobwebs out of the exhaust on the MG and the the Puhoi had beer on the menu !!!!
