Overnight at Coromandel.  We would be disappointed if some of our neighbours from BOP or Waikato, or, hell, wherever, don't come and share our company.  Watch this space in August newsletter for more detail, or keep watching this thread, because I will, of course, update it.For those not staying the night, or who want to get there the long way, we'll do a Coromandel Loop ride going anti-clockwise, departing Papakura Southbound Motorway Service Centre at 0930 hours.  Lunch at the Coroglen Pub sound all right?

At this stage I'm not: if I have a going Beemer by the end of August (that could be doubtful) I'll be doing the day ride.  As soon as the host of Aucklanders decide where they're gonna go, we'll letya know. That will be about Tuesday the 12th, if they sort it at their meeting on the 11th.Be patient, lad.

Here is the latest info I've received from Rob about this event:"Auckland BMW riders weekend overnighter at Coromandel, 27th August 2011At our social meeting held on Monday 11th July it was decided to organise an overnight trip to Coromandel Town for the weekend of Saturday 27th of August, staying at the Tidewater Lodge, located on the water, a few minutes walk from the centre of town. There is a range of reasonably priced accommodation options ranging one and two bedroom motel and studio units @ $100.00 for two, $20.00 per extra person and dorm type units that sleep six @ $30.00 per person. There are a wide range of dining options available and these will be discussed and decided upon prior to the date. As well as this, the locality has a myriad of activities and interesting side trips. When booking at the Tidewater Lodge (Tidewater Motels and Tourist Park, 07 866 8888) for the overnighter in Coromandel on the 27th of August please phone the owners and book direct, saying you are from the BMWOR. (they have some bookings already, so don't delay). If the Tidewater fills up, an alternative nearby is the Anchor Lodge ( 07 866 7992), this was also considered, good quality though a little more expensive options. Regarding Saturday night, we have access to a meal deal running with the local hotel, (Admiral Arms). For $10,00, a seafood chowder with garlic bread,or steak, eggs and chips,or pasta and a selection of gourmet burgers. For $12.00, fish and chips, and for $13.00 steak, eggs, chips and salad or a mixed grill. These prices are approximately $4-$5 cheaper than their normal prices. We can work out who's keen when we have all the numbers in and then decide amongst ourselves, we can advise the hotel pre our arrival, and they can reserve tables for us. These are huge meals, real value for money. They also have a courtesy pick up and return if you wish.  These overnight social trips used to be a regular fixture in year’s past and it would be a real positive if they could be well supported. The Register is first and foremost a social motorcycle club, so let’s live up to that and socialise! The event is open to all members, not just Auckland based and it is hoped that members from other areas will join us too. Bookings are first come, first served, all you need to do is contact Tidewater and make a reservation. More details to follow.Regards, Bruce, Grant, Rob and Jill, on behalf of the Auckland BMW riders"
