I just fitted new Ohlins shocks to my 1100S because the ride was just too harsh for my meagre 80kgs. I have not taken for a ride yet but the spring rate and shock control is much smoother and a bit softer hanging out for a decent test ride.

New Ohlins definitely take the harshness out of the ride and feels awesome when the bike is cranked over.  Quite plush when more upright Transitions from upright to cranked are different and can feel a bit loose , I suspect this may be because both tyres are nearly worn out and the rear has a reasonable flat from touring.

I did the ohlins thing on our race bike, with new tyres it was pushing hard out when exiting corners,Robert Taylor took them apart and set them up for me, ride was much tighter and dropped 5 seconds a lap if you are still not happy give him a shot.
