Good day conjured out of a nasty weather forecast.  Twelve bikes, fourteen souls on board from Papakura, on wet roads via SH1/SH2 to Kopuku Rd, then Coalfields etc to the bottom of Lake Waikare.  I got ahead of Neko by enough round the Lake to be shutdown and off the bike in time to get the full benefit of "the delicate sound of thunder" as she rode the last kilometre on the Monster.  It is a superb sound, Neko, but I don't know how you can put up with it all day!Apparently nobody noticed a couple of false turns between Te Hoe and Gordonton, because I made one of my secret navigational substitutions to avoid u-turning when I knew I had strayed off my game plan  👿.  After a comfort stop at the "Little House on the Prairie" at Gordonton we found the Cafe without trouble on the far side of Cambridge, although we all broke the law crossing the River at Cambridge because, as Tony pointed out, the sign before the bridge clearly said, "CARS ONLY".The staff at Irrestiblue were very obliging, service was friendly, and apart from a Geordie who will remain nameless, but rides a big silver chook-chaser and calls himself YoungJim (oops ), grousing about his poached eggs not being soft, everybody was well fed.  Neko proved to be the power retailer, but quite a few took home wee jars of blueberry this and that.Route home was cross-country to Kakaramea Road (bit of metal involved there, but easy stuff), then via Whatawhata (fuel), Ngaruawahia, Huntly, Rangiriri to the compulsory ice cream at Pokeno.  I was not the only one who couldn't handle nobbut more than a single scoop after our lunch, and Neko didn't even have an ice cream at all: shame on her! The hard core went to Team Foley's for the after-after match, but I went home to give the Sex Toy a quick launder before backing it into the garage and hooking up to life support. Thanks to everybody for their company, and their customary excellent ride behaviour.  Mrs Foley, if you don't have a Photobucket account, photos to me, please, Miss Shutterbug, and I'll put them on mine to save our bandwidth.

Indeed a very enjoyable day on the bike with a great group of people. We didn't even realise that Bwucie was lost, we thought he was just trying some new roads. The roads were wet but there was no rain. The coffee and food was good at Monavale. The icecream was up to usual standard at Pokeno. I even picked up some very tasty pork sausages for dinner. Thanks to all for coming along.
