I will soon need to change the rear knobbly Metzeler MCE Karoo tyre on my GSA.  The front is fine.  I'd prefer not to mix brands but I can't seem to find a Metzeller supplier – with stock – on the internet. 🙁  So, I'm guessing that sticking with Metzeler might prove expensive? 😐  Can anyone point me to a dealer in Auckland that has stock or tell me if they've had good experience of an alternative brand?

I usually use cycle treads. I would recommend that you switch to TKC 80 anyway. They'll last longer and will work ok with your karoo front, plus they should be a little cheaper.

Cycle Treads Takapuna have a set of tkc 80. This was the only set in NZ at the time a couple of weeks ago. I have a used rear Karoo you can have for $50.00

Just looked up the TKC on the web and see it claims to be the original tyre for BMW R1200GSA.  Strange how Metzelers are fitted to mine.  Guess I'll go with the TKC and change front to TKC when necessary.  Thanks for the tips  🙂

Got a TKC fitted at Cycletreads for $310 incl fitting.  Seems fine.
