Never say never, 🙄 well I did and now I have to say I’ve really enjoyed my first 150ks today on the 650x. 🙂 The bike came with a low seat and have both the normal height seat and the low seat to try out over the next few days. At this stage the low seat is more flat and comfortable as well weighs a lot less than the normal height seat. The high seat seems to have a rounded top so does not fit all that well. I have to put 500ks on the clock by Monday’s first service before I take the bike down to an adventure ride based at Hamner. 🙂 Dean
That's not much of a chore is it? Any excuse to ride!. I am thinking of riding down to Whangamomona to do the Old Whangamomona Rd and the Fischer track some time late January. Are you interested?
AnonymousGuest28/12/2008 at 6:04 amPost count: 2134Yes I'm keen.
last I heard the Old Whanga Rd was closed by a large slip. Havent heard of it reopening yet. May pay to check it out.I went in from the Whanga end a month ago and got thru both Tunnels but after spending 3/4 of an hour digging a german machine out of a bog hole turned back at the next bog!!

Thanks for that info. I hope January will be dry and keep the bog to a minimum. Hopefully the locals will at least make an ATV track past the slip. If not, there should be other roads there for a bit of fun.

AnonymousGuest29/12/2008 at 6:50 amPost count: 2134I never thought it could be so hard on deciding which seat to confirm. Both have there good points and not so good points. I'm leaning towards the low seat as being closer to the ground is they way I ride trail rides. The only problem I have with the seat is the ridge at the back of the seat when seated.Experience serviced the bike and fitted some aggressive knobbly tires today. It should be interesting on the ride to see how the bike goes with these tires.
Enjoy the Safari, I am sure the bike will perform as advertised. Which tyres did you have fitted?
