OK, we're all approved!!  Talk about red tape!  I guess you get that with the government jobs.Unfortunately, there is some official-ceremonial-ministerial-governmental ribbon-cutting ballyhoo going on all morning, so we can't get near the place until after 2pm, so 3pm will have to do!  The Ulysses Club will also be joining us, so be nice.  Note: This is not an open invitation to the public, so don't link it to the world please.Motorbike tour of the Northern Gateway Toll Road Saturday, 24th January at 3pm This will be your only opportunity to PAY to see the new Toll Road.  After that it will be free, so get in while you can!!  You will be guided through the project to take in the massive engineering, beautiful landscaping, amazing structures, tunnels, and attention to the environment that is the result of the last 4 years' work.  At the end of the tour, there will be a short information session and answers to your questions, if any.  We should finish no later than 4pm.  (For those who don't know, the motorway will open to the public late Saturday night) We ask that you bring $5 per person as a donation to the NZ Cancer Society. Please email dave.mcginnis@northerngateway.co.nz to reserve your place, as space is limited.  Dave will provide confirmation of your booking, and details on location, access, and timing.  Remember to book - No booking, no entry. We look forward to seeing you! Northern Gateway Alliance

Great event Dave – well done.  We got a sauna thrown in with the cut & fill lesson  😀  I'll be glad to get a copy of some of the photos and video.  All those bikes on that brand new empty highway has got to look good.

Thanks Dave, it was very impressive and had a good time.  I tried bringing some Kiwibikers through from Warkworth on Sunday, but thye road was so jam packed with cars, we did Woodcocks road instead.

Here is a reminder to what it looked like during construction  http://forum.bmwor.org.nz/index.php/topic,1022.0.htmlThis thread, or part of it should really be in ride reports now, maybe it can be split, perhaps Neko can look into this.
