AnonymousInactive08/09/2008 at 6:31 amPost count: 305Yeah, it looks great! Sounds good too. It will be better with a pipe though. Typical BMW over-piping everything. The seat reminds me of my KTM seat. Like a 4x2 painted black.DTY

So it's over-piped, but needs a pipe? Seems to me it needs a seat.

The seat was hard but the price I under stood was $300.000 cheaper than the KTM. The bike looks great and well built. On road around $15,200.00

The seat is hard up front but a little back there is some padding. I think for the money its a lot of bike compared to the f650x.

So if I gave you $300 you would have bought a KTM? Bummer not being able to afford what you have rather had. Sorry Dean, I didn't know things were that tight! But no, it was $14,900 on the road. With a free pen. Oh yeah, and a free motard kit!

Orange is not my favorite colour 🙄 nor old technology 😐

The cable clutch is old but now new and easy to maintain. You should bring your orange bike along next week and see how it compares. 😉
Saw the 450 the other day and it looked quite good, although I can't see the rubber bung over the petrol filler lasting long and the side stand snaps up like a gin trap as soon as a little weight is taken off the bike which could lead to a lot of cussing and swearing and stationary drops as it takes people unawares. 😳

I think the idea is that you can pretty much ride off the side stand after you've dropped it in a tricky situation without having to do any acrobatics to fold it up. The R80 has a snap-up side stand, you get used to it. People forget it's a performance bike and not little commuter.I sat on it yesterday. I was surprised that I could get both balls of my feet down. Someone who's not been skipping lunches, or has longer legs should be quite comfortable. It seems hardly worth to get a registration for, there is no way you're going to ride this thing for any distance on the road.

You must of put some weight on 😉 as I was on my tip toes sitting on the bike. It quite comfortable having one foot completely on the ground. The only way to put the stand down safely is by getting of the bike first then put the stand down.October can not come fast enough 🙂
