What a great day! Half of us (the truly motivated riders) left BP at 10:30, taking a scenic route through Runciman, Pukekohe East, Puke, and crossing around the back of Waiuku before crossing back east to take the main route up the peninsula. Arriving early, there was still time to take in the beaches at Orua and Wattle Bay. The tea rooms were a welcome site, as all present had remarked about the strong westerly wind ahead of the not-yet-arrived storms.A coffee, a scone, and a squawk from a tame cockatoo, and we departed in haste to get home ahead of the rain. It was timed perfectly, it only started to spit as I was coming home down my street. Thanks to all who attended. Both of us.
