South Island RAG Rally This will be held over Christchurch Show weekend the 14th to 16th November 2008 at Collingwood in Golden Bay North West of NelsonThere is a wide variety of accommodation available from the Motor Camp, cottage rental, lots of B&Bs and a couple of motels, accommodation is self book so I would start booking your accommodation now. We will gather from 6 pm on Friday night for a drink and meal dinner at the Collingwood Tavern. Saturday there will be two rides: For the Roadies explore the “Bay” from west to east taking in the local café culture from Farewell Spit-Puponga_Farmpark.cafe in the west with its great view of the spit, Bencarri animal farm with all manner of animal and tame eels, The Naked Possum Café speaks for itself, Mussel Inn for the old Hippies and out to the Abel Tasman Memorial 12km East of Takaka.Gravel Surfers a ride down the West Coast through Westhaven Inlet to the Anatori River, lots of interesting things to look at such as the old town site of Paturau and a stop at the Mangarakau café. Also to see and do in Collingwood there are beach walks (why would you) Rosy Glow Chocolate factory on Beach Road Collingwood, maybe if the tide is right a 4x4 bus trip up Farewell Spit. Saturday evening meal will be at the Mussell Inn Cafe an we will be transported there and back by bus for $10 per person return.Further information will be posted later "Watch This Space"

There will be two “guided” rides on Saturday.
