    On a 2001, 1150GS, with loaded panniers and that light rain that gets you really wet…A couple of weeks ago I was coming back to AKL from Russell via the coastal (Helena Bay) road, the fuel warning light came on and (to make things brief) I ended up getting about 35 miles (56Km) out of the reserve.  When I filled up I managed to get 21 litres in (I've pumped more than that before - yes it is supposed to be a 21L tank).My question is - How much further could I have gone, did I wimp out too early?  Any other R1150GS owners out there?

    I think you can shift a bit of petrol by tilting the bike if you are lucky. When you hear the fuel pump squeal you'll know it's getting close.
