With a lovely sunny day a few friends decided to make the best of the weather whilst we can and instead of hanging around at home we thought it best to “saddle up” and enjoy a bit of power between the legs 😀Three bikes met up at Mosgiel Shell at 08:00, we then met up with more friends at Milton and a group of five bikes was heading down to Ray's Junction, where the last of the group met up and in the end nine bikes was heading towards Wanaka for the day. 😆Alexandra was a gas stop for most of the bikes, me being very great full for a 30litre tank on the Adventure. We set of for a relaxing and welcoming coffee at Cromwell with a very nice and calm lake and blooming orchards. 😎 Whilst at Cromwell we decided to make the trip more interesting and took a detour over the Crown Ranges Pass. Very surprised to still find low lying snow - the snow was visible from the highway but we never expected to experience it first hand as we headed up the Pass. We could not resist having a snow fight at the lookout point on the top.Wanaka was the lunch stop and everybody was really looking forward having a bit to bite after our riding skills was tested on the Pass 😮We decided not to take the same route back, but rather go via Ranfurly, where we had a coffee stop and headed then past Middlemarch to Outram where we split to our different homes. 😥Got home very satisfied at about 20:00 with 650km behind us for the day and we stayed on two wheels and enjoyed it 😀
Thanks for the report Tharon. Snow, brrrrrrr not on a bike, thank you. Gerda and I are looking forward to the Annual Rally, will you be there?I didn't know you could get the Adventure in small as well, must show it to Gerda, I am sure she'd like one. 😀
