I am new to owning a gleaming R1150GS (dont like the look of the new 1200GS, apologies to anyone) Having had sportsbikes most of my riding life and suffering on long trips decided to switch to the 1150GS after taking a test ride on one and was amazed how muc fun i had. Anyway i am looking for accessories to enhance my bike ie Remus exhaust, engine bars, need a new set of hand protectors, rocker cover and a mirror but dont want to pay BMW's prices. Anyone with any knowledge of traders who import parts? only parts i can find are in the UK and USA at reasonable prices. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks 😕
Howdy.Trade me had bars and hand protectors. Maby still there. Can try E-bay also.Good luck.
Hi and welcome to the forum. Have a look at neptune.co.nz for exhausts. They also do a y-pipe. In NZ you will be struggling to find BMW specific aftermarket accessories. Occassionally someone will upgrade their bike and sell stuff separately. Is one of your covers damaged and if so which one?Cheers,Alex
I have a set of pristine genuine BMW engine cover guards (the plastic ones) for an 1150GS twin spark if you are interested. Also have a Touratech tail bag as new for same.Jim
Motohansa in Australia are very good and stock many brands of accessory parts.

I,ve found them not very good.
I know this is a bit of a stretch, but MAX is very good for GS accessories and advicehttp://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/
Apologies been away on holiday with the family. Anyway my GS was bought with damage to the right hand side after the last owner had a light spill on diesel. it damaged the right hand rocker cover which has been welded, the plastic engine protector and right hand mirror. So would like to replace. Thanks
Nick, try a google search for Jame Sherlock BMW in the UK. They are an independent dealer.i got some parts from them last year for my old R80G/S. My local dealer quoted $44 per valve guide = $176. I had them from sherlocks in 6 days (with a whole lot of other stuff) for $75. they have a very comprehensive catalogue on line so give it a go.nigglec

Really? I found Motohansa really good to deal with. Email an order, what you ask for arrives in 4 days if they have it in stock, if not they get it and keep you posted as to where it's at, more than some do in NZ.
AnonymousGuest22/02/2007 at 6:46 amPost count: 2134I have ordered of them once and that took some time with emails to get them to reply. The last time they never replied and I sent three emails. So now I use BMW Santa Cruz and they have been great.

This what I got back from Santa Cruz - "We regularly send our products throughout the world and we'll be happy to process your order. Our systems however do not allow us to accept international orders through our web site, nor can we accept credit cards as a method of payment for orders shipped outside of North America. If you are a registered PayPal user, we can accept payment in that way, otherwise payment must be carried out by Bank Transfer. If you wish to proceed with an order, please let me know which item(s) you are interested in and which method of payment that you prefer. I will then send you an invoice containing a price quote including shipping charges. We recommend shipping with UPS because of proven reliability and ease of tracking. The cost for a package containing the items you are interested in will cost roughly $210.00 to ship. We can also send it with the mail however I must caution you that if the package is lost or damaged in any way, we can assume no responsibility. There is no mechanism in place to track international shipments with the mail and there's no practical recourse if there's a problem. Chances are excellent that everything will go well. As long as you agree that our responsibility ends with delivering the package to the post office, we can go that route. The cost will be about 1/2 of the UPS charge."This from Motohansa - "We keep some HP2 wunderlich bits, but as there are not many HP2's in Australia so some of the parts are "order in". All parts in A$ incl 10% gst, which we'll remove for export no problem sending to NZ, we charge aussie post + $3 packing and credit card is fine, no problem with Amex but charge 3% extra, Visa is 0%"I went with the Aussies 😀
Try motorworks.co.uk, excellent service, no hassles.
I too have tried many of the US dealers with no luck or even the courtesy of a reply apart from BMW of North Houston who gave excellent service and backup to check if I was satisfied with the pants and liner I bought from them. Shipped US postal service as detailed below with no problems."We do send to New Zealand and usually use the US Postal Service,as I have found this to be the cheapest way to ship overseas. I wouldguess that it would run somewhere between $40 - $60 for shipping butcannot confirm until I have actual weight of merchandise. Keep in mindthough that there would be no sales tax, which would help defer theshipping charges.Let me know what you would like to do. Thank you for taking thetime to visit our website.Best Wishes,Lisa M.
