Anyone tried the Continental Escape tyres on an 1150GS? Looking for something between a Tourance and TKC80.

Get hold of Kerry at Motohaus and ask him to show you the Vee Rubber VRM147, should hang onto an 1150 okay.Looked on VeeRubber’s website, and they don’t appear to make 1150GS sizes, I doubt they’d be road legal either. Anyone got a set of TKC80’s for sale?

AND GET THE TYRE INSTALLED BACK TO FRONT OR THE WRONG SIZE TIRE OR JUST NOT TIGHTEN THE BOLTS. I WILL NEVER GO THERE FOR TIRES AGAIN. 😯
These guys are the best I have found 😉 http://www.cycletreads.co.nz/content/welcome.aspxAnd that’ll be after you’ve waited 6 months for him to get the ‘unobtainium’ tyre into stock (Cycletreads had them all along!)
Cycletreads rule!AnonymousGuest22/08/2006 at 9:21 amPost count: 2134Amen, and if after those comments you STILL go to Motohaus, make sure he has bolted BOTH front calipers back on.

Jeez, I only suggested a look 🙄
Do like me, change your own tyres - I've only ever put one on backwards 😳AnonymousGuest24/08/2006 at 8:49 amPost count: 2134I’ve only ever put one on backwards
Oh, Gary, you paragon! Had to do one on the pushbike last night: Manukau drinkers think the side of the road is a waste disposal unit for the bottles they throw out of their rowdy exhausted Subarus.
Which way round is the tyre?
Which way is it gonna stay?
They have another payday next week = another puncture, I'll turn it around then.Bwucie wrote:Oh, Gary, you paragon!
Phew, I thought you were being rude Bwucie, then I looked it upAnonymousGuest25/08/2006 at 1:10 pmPost count: 2134Garry.W wrote:Get hold of Kerry at Motohaus and ask him to show you the Vee Rubber VRM147, should hang onto an 1150 okay.

Sorry mate I just feel life is very important and others should be aware. 8)Kiwi Adventure wrote:Sorry mate I just feel life is very important and others should be aware. 8)
Fair callWhilst I agree that safety is paramount when on the road, I don’t feel that some of these comments are particularly constructive. Rather than concentrate on the negatives, try embracing positives. For example “I’ve used The Super Tyre Shop for the past 12 years and the service has been brilliant. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”
Personally I use Motohaus. I get excellent service, value for money and flexible hours. Hey, if he can, Kerry will stay open for you if passing through on a ride (e.g. Southern Cross). I'm not sure if others offer this service.
It wasn't that long ago that Motohaus opened 7 days a week. And isn't that just what we all needed come a Sunday morning ride and the hoops are flat! It's a shame that none of the bike shops now open Sundays (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Oh, and can someone please let me know when Cycletreads began supporting the Register?
Martyn (and Wendy)Cycletreads are also open Saturday and Sunday 9am to 4pm 🙂
