Why not have your student design a double handed replacement cover that can be knocked out cheaply by a factory in China or Pakistan? Perhaps cast in base metal or plastic that can be DIY painted, a hot spare could be stored under the seat
we are thinking along the lines of that. We are looking at using the mounting points that are currently used for the plastic spark plug cover. They seem a lot more substantial than what is being used at the moment. Thanks for your input.
